Despite the lack of spring weather, March break is on its way! Pack up your RV, hit the road, and head to one of these fun spots to embrace the last of the cold weather.
Spend time together on the slopes in Nelson
Don’t let ski season slip away without one last family ski trip! Head west to the Kootenay region of BC, and spend your spring break on the slopes of Nelson’s Whitewater Ski Resort. You’re welcome to camp in your RV at the designated base area parking lot for $25 a night.
Find something for everyone at Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park
Sitting on the Alberta-Saskatchewan boundary, Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park’s varied terrain offers plenty of fun activities for the whole family. The Elkwater campground is open year-round, and while there’s snow on the ground, you can enjoy the tobogganing hill, ice skating trail, outdoor hockey rink, ski resort, fat biking trails, snowshoeing and cross-country ski trails. It is also one of the largest and darkest dark-sky preserves, so stargazing is a must.
Head south to Glacier National Park
If you know and love Waterton, head a bit further south to Montana’s Glacier National Park during March break. Stunning forests, alpine meadows, rugged mountains, and spectacular lakes, with over 700 miles of trails by which to explore them. During the off-season, the St. Mary Campground and the Apgar Picnic area are available for camping. There is no fee charged for camping from November 1st through March 31st.
