Hey everybody Bucars says you don’t want to winterize your RV. Well, you don’t want to winterize your RV yet.
So when using your RV in the winter the number one thing you really should be concerned with is your water system. You know what going camping in the fall we don’t see the drastic freezing temperatures that really concern us with our water system but we do need to keep an eye on it.
Things do get below zero and freeze so with your water system I generally have my water system still wet this time of year because I’m doing a lot of camping. Because I don’t have to be here helping you I can actually go camping this time of year and with my water system, I know how to winterize it very quickly.
So I’ll actually push this season right into October by keeping my system wet. Now I don’t suggest everyone does that unless you’re really comfortable with winterizing your RV and winterizing RV can be a very straightforward system for you to figure out. But each unit is different so make sure you understand yours.
Now the water systems keeping them wet yes is a little bit of a gamble and no Bucars is not going to pay for your cracked toilet fitting when you freeze that isn’t my fault. Do keep an eye on the weather but usually, if it’s going to get down close to zero when you get a little bit of frost on the puddles outside that doesn’t scare me. What really scares me is when water freezes solid because when it freezes solid is when it expands that’s when you’re gonna have all your plumbing issues.
So generally my system is wet now in between camping trips I will actually blow the air out of my water system. So I’ll blow the water out of my system with air just to make sure that I don’t have water just by myself a little bit extra time and then before I go camping right before I go then I’ll fill up my tanks so that’s for fall camping for winter camping or if you are going to go camping and it is going to freeze.
Please winterize your RV that’s what I do I go out there without the water system I still use my toilet but the kids know they need to flush with antifreeze they don’t get to use a water valve they got to flush with the jug and then we have a big five-gallon thing of water on the counter just to supply all of our cooking needs cleaning. You know the water you need for brushing your teeth every day so on your water just respect it know your temperature before you go and understand how to winterize your RV.
