Shawn Roe:
Now, we’re showing you some simple maintenance on your slide drive system. You just need some simple cleaning tools and a bit of spray lube here.
Here’s the drive system for the slide and you can see it is exposed and it’s close to our wheel wells so a lot of dirt and debris gets on here. You’re going to want to clean off as much that debris as possible.
After you have the slide rams all clean of debris ,you’re going to want to apply a lubricant. You want one that’s not going to collect any kind of dust, dirt or debris and also one that’s going to repel moisture like we have here today. You’re just going to shake it up and spray all the moving parts, coat it well, try to use more than less, it’s not gonna hurt anything.
What you’re going to do is, after you spray it, you’re going to run your slide in and out a couple times. If you’re still hearing any squeaks, come back out and give it another good healthy coating again. Get all the moving parts, there’s gears under there. Because any part that moves and rotates needs to be lubed.
Should last it easily this summer, but you may want to do it depending on how many times you operate that slide more than once.
