Our top places for finding serendipity with just you, your RV and tiny a bit of planning.
One of the key reasons people love (and live) to travel is for those moments of serendipity. Serendipity – the occurrence of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way – has to be happened upon and is rarely a product of over planning. Here are a few top places to let serendipity happen without giving away too much detail:
Vegas: Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, Tao Beach Pool
After you’re sick of hearing those ringing slots, take your wheels to the Hoover Dam just east of the city or to the Grand Canyon just a few short hours further afield. And finding your way to Tao Beach Pool might be an adventure in and of itself, but trust us, it’s worth it.
Florida: Keys, Zoos, Surf
After a long trip to get to Florida, keep going to discover the Florida Keys. Make your way back to the mainland being sure to find one or two of the State’s world-renowned zoos, including one at a popular amusement part. Lastly, enjoy seemingly endless miles of beach by catching a few waves after a quick surf lesson (don’t forget to sunscreen the back of your legs.)
Cabo: Beaches, Food, Shopping
We’ve been told Cabo San Lucas is the Mexican destination of choice for 2013. No doubt you’ll be caught with big smiles after a day of world-class fishing, local food to write home about, and storage packed to the brim with artisanal artifacts.
New York! New York! – Park it and train it, Shopping, Brooklyn, Sites
Don’t let visiting the Big Apple in an RV scare you. Just park it at Liberty Harbor RV – “The Closest RV Park to New York City.” Jump on the Liberty Harbor Ferry to Manhattan, put that credit card through good use in SoHo and Chelsea Market, and don’t forget good walking shoes – you’ll want to see as much as you can while you’re there.
Lake of the Woods – A book, a boat, and relaxation
Back in Canada, you’ll be hard pressed to find warmer, clearer waters than those of Lake of the Woods, Ontario, just 2 hours east of Winnipeg. We advise you to stock up on books to read a find a boat for fishing endless Bass. Take the batteries out of your clocks and say goodbye to civilization – you’re in cottage country now.
