We all want to be comfortable while we’re camping, returning well rested and without a sore back. So if you’re struggling to get a good night’s sleep in your RV, follow these helpful tips.
1. Change your bedding with the season
Dress your bed for the season with options for both warm and cold nights. Use cool cotton sheets and lightweight comforters in the summer, and cozy flannel sheets with added wool blankets in the winter.
2. Bring the comforts of home
Don’t leave your favourite pillows behind, throw them into the RV before you leave home! When travelling with kids, a familiar pillow, blanket and stuffed animal will make bedtime look and feel more familiar.
3. Size is important
If you’re in the market for a new RV, pay close attention to mattress sizes as you shop. RV mattresses come in many shapes and sizes, varying based on the length and width of the unit. If you’re tall, you may want to avoid the short queen size. While it is similar to a standard queen in width, it is usually 5 inches shorter, which may cause your feet to hang off the end.
4. Keep your RV dark
Do the first rays of sunlight tend to wake you up? It might be time to add blackout blinds or window coverings to your RV. You can even find retractable vent shades to prevent light coming in from above.
5. Enjoy the sounds of nature
Camping can be the perfect time to put away the sound machine and enjoy the real sounds of nature as you drift off to sleep. Sometimes, however, we may find ourselves camping next to a busy highway or overnighting in a Wal-Mart parking lot. For these nights, have a portable, battery operated sound machine on hand, and you’ll be snoring to the sound of ocean waves in no time.
6. Upgrade your mattress
If you’re waking up stiff and sore, upgrade your mattress to the RV Traveler’s Choice mattress! Made from durable, high density posturized foam, it provides long lasting comfort to help you get a good night’s sleep. And you can rest easy with our 30 Night Comfort Guarantee when you purchase our mattress protector. Visit the RV Care website to see the benefits of each model.
