Christmas in the Coulee 2019
Atlas Coal Mine National Historic Site

Experience twinkling Christmas lights under a vast starry sky at the 3rd Annual Christmas in the Coulee. The Atlas Coal Mine National Historic Site will offer hot chocolate, cookies, kids activities, Santa Claus, eggnog tasting, the Polar Express train, sleigh rides and music while you enjoy the sight of thousands of lights. Next, head to the East Coulee School Museum across the river for kids crafts, live music, indoor s’mores bar and festive treats by candlelight.

A local favourite, you don’t have to go far to enjoy an evening strolling through the magical glow of ZOOLIGHTS. Bring the whole family for this much-loved holiday tradition at the Calgary Zoo, from 6pm to 9pm, November 22, 2019 to January 4, 2020.
Banff Gondola Mountaintop Christmas
Banff National Park
Various dates, beginning November 16, 2019
Ride to the top of the Banff Gondola and step out at the summit into a Mountaintop Christmas wonderland. Running Nov 16 – Dec 22 on weekends, and then daily from Dec 23-30, you can visit Santa’s Workshop, decorate cookies in the bakeshop, write letters to and take photos with Santa, play games and watch a film in the theatre. Kids ride free before noon!
Winter Light Festival
Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden, Lethbridge
November 29, 2019 to January 31, 2020
If you’re in Lethbridge this winter, take a walk through the Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden, beautifully lit during the Winter Light Festival. The garden will be open November 29 & 30, Thursday to Saturdays in December, and Fridays & Saturdays in January from 6-9 pm each night, weather permitting.
New Year’s Eve Party on the Pond
Canmore, AB

Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Canmore this year. Party on the Pond is a wonderful event for all ages, featuring live music, bonfires, skating, hot chocolate and local food vendors. Then, at the stroke of midnight, enjoy the fireworks at Millennium Park.

Banff National Park
January 15 – 26, 2020
Spend time in Banff National Park this winter and experience SnowDays. The annual event features snow and ice sculptures, family-friendly parties, DJs at the Banff Ave skating rink, and more. Visit mid-week to see world-class sculptors in action, creating incredible works of art during the international carving competition.
