Our Favourite Places to Celebrate Canada Day

Wave your maple leaf with pride as you celebrate Canada’s 151stbirthday at one of these fun events.

Airdrie Parade  

Head down to Airdrie’s Main Street, and watch their annual parade. Following the parade, stay to enjoy a Canada Day Street Festival outside of city hall with live entertainment, bouncy castles, food trucks, and the Time Travelers car club display.

Elk Island National Park

Take advantage of free entry on July 1stand enjoy hiking or paddling at Astotin Lake in Elk Island National Park. Canada day events include a flag raising, birthday cake, and fun programs for the entire family.

Lac La Biche Mission Historical Site

Camping this weekend at Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park? Head over to the Lac La Biche Mission Historical Siteand celebrate Canada Day with a free pancake breakfast, live music, cultural dancers, historic tours, and more.

Canada Day Enmax fireworks, Calgary

If you’re staying in town, check out the annual Canada Day Enmax fireworks. Starting at 11pm, the firework display will take place on the Centre Street Bridge. You’ll be able to see the show from any vantage point along the Bow River corridor.

Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village, Pincher Creek

Enjoy free admission on July 1stto celebrate Canada Day at Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village. The day’s activities cater to all ages, with music, games, dancing and cake. Opening Ceremonies start at 11am with the Legion and RCMP Colour Guard, the grand opening of the Hudson’s Bay Company Store, and a performance by the Edmonton Metis Dancers.
