Alberta Campgrounds to Suit Your Fall Camping Style

Do you like to get completely off-the-grid? Or enjoy the amenities of an RV Resort? Or are you somewhere in the middle? Whatever your fall camping style, there’s a campground to suit you.

Enjoy the amenities of an RV Resort

Mount Kidd RV Park
Offering year-round Kananaskis camping in the Rockies, Mount Kidd RV Park and Campground is the perfect base camp for hiking, golfing, and skiing, depending on the season. Powered sites are open year-round, and during their seasonal site water/sani-dump shut-off, potable water is still available and the main dump station stays open.

Camp’n Class RV Park
If you’re traveling to Edmonton, check out the Camp’n Class RV Park. It offers fully serviced sites and is open year-round, just 20 minutes west of Edmonton. They have sites to suit any size RV, with 100 amps available at every site, town water, a paving stone patio, gravel pad and a picnic table.

Get back to nature with some amenities

Chain Lakes Provincial Park
Just 90 minutes SW of Calgary, Chain Lakes Provincial Park offers opportunities for birding, wildlife watching, fishing, and in winter, ice fishing. During the off-season, Loop B (sites 28–60) is open and available for first-come, first-serve camping at a reduced rate. These sites offer 30 amp power, so you don’t have to go completely off-the-grid.

Miquelon Lake Campground
Part of the Beaver Hills Dark Sky Preserve, Miquelon Lake Campground is great for stargazing. Spacious sites offer power hookups year-round in Loop A. Explore the many trails for hiking, mountain biking, or skiing when the snow falls.

Relax completely off-the-grid

Sheep Creek Campground
A tiny campground of only 6 unserviced sites in the Sheep Creek Provincial Recreation Area, sites are located on the scenic banks of the Smoky River. It is recommended that you bring your own potable water and firewood.

Ole’s Lake Campground
A remote, northern lake get-away, Ole’s Lake Campground offers 18 unserviced sites, open year-round, on the lake shore. Be sure to bring your own potable water.
